Florine Gertrude Iverson

Clay Center, NE resident Florine Gertrude Iverson, 91, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at Harvard Rest Haven in Harvard, NE.
A private family Rosary will be prayed Monday, June 1, 2020, at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel in Clay Center, NE. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Tuesday, June 2, 2020, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Harvard, NE with Father Christophe Stoley officiating. Services will be live-streamed on McLaughlin Funeral Chapelís Facebook page with the Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., and the Mass at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be Monday, from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m., at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel in Clay Center. We will be following the CDC guidelines of 10 people gathering at a time for visitation.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family (Joan Meese 4912 Walker Ave. Apt. #1 Lincoln, NE 68504) to be designated later.
Florine Gertrude (Labenz) Iverson was born on December 17, 1928, in St. Edward, Nebraska to Conrad and Margaret (Hoelscher) Labenz. She attended country school in St. Edward through the eighth grade. She then cleaned houses and worked other odd jobs to help support her family affected by the Great Depression. She married Richard Iverson on June 30, 1954, at St. Edward Catholic Church in St. Edward, NE. She worked as a housewife and mother for many years. She and Richard moved to Clay Center in 1966, where Richard worked at the Meat Animal Research Center and Florine worked in the cafeteria at Clay Center School until her retirement in 1993.
She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and Altar Society.
She is survived by her brother, Ralph (Lorene) Labenz of St. Edward, NE; children, Karen and George Cushing of Harrisonville, MO; Ken Iverson of Clay Center, NE; Keith Iverson of Mesa, AZ; Steve and Dawn Iverson of Hastings, NE; James and Leticia Iverson of Hastings, NE; Joan and Michael Meese of Lincoln, NE; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her siblings, Alice Coffee; Irvin Labenz; Mary Ann Greig; Mark Labenz; Jerry Labenz; and Francis Labenz.
