William "Don" Donald Hunt

Edgar, NE resident William “Don” Donald Hunt, 80, passed away Friday, February 7, 2020, at the Sutton Community Home in Sutton, NE.

In honoring his wish to be cremated there will not be any services at this time.

Memorial contributions may be directed to La Pietra School or the Hawaii School for Girls, C/O Nancy Hunt, 703 N. Parkview Circle, Edgar, NE 68935.

Don was born September 8, 1939, to William Silas and Dorothy Marie (Anderson) Hunt in Greeley, CO. He received his education in Denver, Co and furthered his education at Colorado State University. On April 8, 1968, he married Nancy Graham in Honolulu, HI. He was the owner of Hunts’ Laundromatics in Honolulu, HI.

Don was an avid football fan. He graduated from East High School in Denver, CO where he was selected an All-City lineman. He ran the Honolulu Marathon in the late 1970s and coached and refereed AYSO and HYSA soccer for many years in Honolulu. Don also enjoyed supporting the music department of La Pietra School.

Don was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity at Colorado State University. The Waikiki Rotary Club and the Edgar, Ne Lions Club. He enjoyed fishing, dancing, bridge and beach camping.

He is survived by his wife Nancy (Graham) Hunt of Edgar, NE; son, Jeffrey D. and wife Kimberly Davenport Hunt of Hauula, HI; daughter, Amy (Hunt) and husband Luke Ellestad of South Haven, MN; grandchildren, Hunter Hicks-Ellestad, Weston Ellestad and Jaxon Hunt; brothers, David and wife JoAnn Hunt of Centennial, CO; Robert and wife Deborah Hunt of Murfreesboro, TN; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, William S. and Dorothy Hunt.

Don’s dry wit, wisdom, integrity, and his devotion to his family and friends will be greatly missed. He was much loved.

Don was a smart and witty friend ❤️. He faced his troubles with bravery and Grace and I certainly loved and respected both he and DEAR Nancy. I was lucky to know him and he will be missed. God Speed Don. God bless the family 🙏
