Melba Jean Kimminau, 90, formerly of Fairfield, Nebraska, passed away July 4, 2019, at the Harvard Rest Haven in Harvard, Nebraska.

A Funeral Service for Jean will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2019, at 10:30 a.m., at the Fairfield Community Presbyterian Church in Fairfield, Nebraska with Pastor Ivan & Joyce Dean presiding.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with the family greeting the public from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the McLaughlin Funeral Chapel in Clay Center, Nebraska.

Graveside Services will be conducted following the funeral service at the Fairfield Cemetery in Fairfield, Nebraska.

Memorials are to be directed to the Harvard Rest Haven or Fairfield Auxiliary.

Melba “Jean” Kimminau (Ashby) was born on July 17, 1928, in Longdale, Oklahoma to John Edward Ashby and Daisy D. Ashby. She married Robert Matticks on July 17, 1956, in Fairfield, Nebraska. They had three children Ricky Matticks, Janice Sherman (Matticks), Joanna Hinrichs (Matticks). Jean married Ted Kimminau in 1989 and was widowed 2002.

Jean graduated from Cosmetology School in Nelson, NE in 1962, and owned and operated her own beauty shop in her home in Fairfield, NE. Jean was a past member of the Fairfield Auxiliary and a past member of the Fairfield Presbyterian Community Church.

She is survived by her children and spouses, Ricky and Becky Matticks; Janice and Kevin Sherman and Joanna Hinrichs; her grandchildren, Joseph Matticks and Samuel Matticks; Cassidy Stroda; Rami Hinrichs; Mason Hinrichs; Kayin Lovgren; Karson Sherman and Karlee Sherman; great-grandchild, Brooklyn Stroda and sister, Emma Skinner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Daisy Ashby; her siblings, Almeda Larson; Allen Ashby; Percy Ashby and Dennis Ashby; her husbands, Robert Matticks and Ted Kimminau and her grandchildren, Jordyn Lovgren and Kylie Lovgren.
