Former Clay Center resident, Frank DeJung, Jr., 90, passed away Friday, March 22, 2019, at The Central Nebraska Veterans Home in Kearney, NE.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Clay Center, NE with Rev. Rob Garton officiating. Interment will follow at the Clay Center Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with family present from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel in Clay Center, NE.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date on Frank’s behalf.

Frank DeJung, Jr., 90, passed away Friday, March 22, 2019 at the Central Nebraska Veterans Home in Kearney. A lifelong resident of Nebraska, Frank was born February 24, 1929 in Glenvil to Frank and Frieda (Foth) DeJung. He started his early childhood living near Glenvil where his father was a farmer. In the early 1940s with the building of the Naval Ammunition Depot near Hastings, Frank’s family moved to Clay County near Clay Center. After serving two years in the army, he returned home to farm and spent most of the rest of his life farming in the area.

Frank was an avid reader of the Bible. He also enjoyed playing cards, going to auctions, and found great enjoyment in playing the violin.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank G. DeJung, and Frieda B. (Foth) DeJung; and sister, Darlene A. Bender.

Survivors include two nieces and their husbands, Ruth and Gary Woolman of Hampton and Roberta and Harry Powell of Fort Collins, CO; and three nephews, Wesley Bender, Clinton and Brenda Bender, and Delbert Bender and significant other, Deb King, all of Kenesaw.
