Sutton resident, Janice Ann Eggers, 77, passed away Friday, April 6, 2018, at the Sutton Community Home in Sutton, NE.

Memorial services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at Sutton Memorial Chapel with Father Michael Zimmer officiating. Graveside services will follow at the Sutton Cemetery. Honoring her wish to be cremated there is no viewing or visitation.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Sutton Community Home.

Janice was born August 16, 1940, to Ley Roy and Arlie (Boothey) Hames in Des Moines, IA. On October 17, 1958, she married Jerry Ray Eggers in Clayton, NM. She was employed as a motel maid for many years.

She enjoyed painting tea towels for family and friends, painting ceramics, reading books about Indians, listening to country music and cleaning house. She loved to prepare big meals of fried chicken, potato salad and of course her specialty pineapple cookies for her family.

She is survived by her sons, Billy and wife Karen Eggers of Marlow, OK; Tommy and wife Chris Eggers of Guymon, OK; Bobby and wife Kristy Eggers of Sutton, NE; 8 grandchildren, Ann and husband Eli Ashbrook of Marlow, OK; Christina Eggers of Marlow, OK; David Eggers and fiancÚ Krystal Donaldson of Marlow, OK; Kevin and wife Sarah Eggers of Norman, OK; Jason and wife Marisa Eggers of Guymon, OK; Timothy Eggers of Colorado Springs, CO; Tanna and Shae Eggers both of Sutton, NE; 11 great-grandchildren and 6 step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Jerry Ray Eggers.

Janice was happy when she was doing things for others. She loved to paint and read. We will miss her.

Janice, you will always be in my heart. I think of you often and will always remember how you were always happy to see me. I loved the letters from you as they were handwritten with pictures and I loved them all. See you in the afterlife with uncle Jerry someday.
