Sutton resident, Norma Jeane (Arp) Finnegan, 86, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at the Sutton Community Home in Sutton, NE.
Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, October 29, 2017, at St. Maryís Catholic Church in Sutton, NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 30, 2017, at St. Maryís Catholic Church with Father Michael Zimmer officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Grafton, NE. Visitation will be Sunday, from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m., at Sutton Memorial Chapel in Sutton, NE.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Legion Auxiliary Argonne Unit #61.
Norma Jeane (Arp) Finnegan was born May 24, 1931, at Harvard, Nebraska to Albert & Lillian (Milroy) Arp. She graduated from Grafton High School. She married Joseph Finnegan on June 6, 1950. in Grafton, Nebraska. She was employed with Tedís OK Tires in Sutton.
Norma spent many hours enjoying hobbies such as needlepoint and plastic canvas. She liked word search puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, playing bingo and spent many hours entertaining grandchildren with SkipBo, Kitty, and making funnel cakes. She was well known for her popcorn balls at Halloween.
She was a 60+ year member of the Sutton American Legion Auxiliary, serving 3 years as president and numerous years as secretary. Norma was also a member of 8/40 for 42 years, Sutton Womenís Bowling Association for over 40 years, and Interstate Traveling Bowling League.
She is survived by her sons, Michael (Mary) Finnegan of Gross and Kevin (Linda) Finnegan of Sutton. Daughter, Coleen (Mike) Anderson of Clay Center. Two sisters, Donna Kleinschmidt of Sutton and Jan (Del) Hornbacher of York. 11 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Finnegan; parents, Albert and Lillian Arp; infant sisters, Shirley and Karen; daughter, Sharon Richards; one great-grandson, Cooper Allan and brother-in-law, Kay Kleinschmidt.
